Campha
port, built in 1894, has been put into operation since 1924. At that
time, it was designed for the maximum vessel size of 10,000 DWT. The
whaft is 300 m long with a 26 sea mile channel from Buoy Zero
The port’s main task is to load coal for export and
domestic consumption. In 1990, it was transferred from the
Ministry of Transport to the coal industry. The CamphaPort
and Logistics Company (The Vinacomin_Port Company today - a subsidiary of Vietnam National Coal Corporation
( Vietnam National Coal-Mineral Industries Group / Vinacomin today) has been assigned to manage and operate it.
To meet various requirements of coal supply for domestic consumption
and export, since 1990, the main wharf and the sea channel have been
improved. The floating port station, built at Hon Net anchorage,
meets necessary conditions to accept 65,000 DWT vessels to load coal
off-shore .
According
to the economic development plans in the region, taking advantage of the deep sea-port, the less alluvial sea-channel, the large and
less windy anchorage area, Vietnam National Coal Corporation (Vinacomin
today) has
approved the project on the improvement of Campha Port, including
the extension of 250m to the wharf, the dredging of the front
berth-area, capable of receiving vessels up to 70,000 of DWT
The work
is estimated to complete by the end of 2005.The development plan of
the Port in the period 2005 - 2010 is to make Campha Port an Import
- Export Complex for general cargoes.

Foreword On the occasion of the anniversary of Campha Port ' s 80 years of operation and the Port and Coal Trading Company 's 15 years of foundation (Vinacomin, today), the Port and Coal Trading Company( Vinacomin-Port Company ) has compiled and internally issued the book" The Port and Coal Trading Company -15 Years of Construction and Development ".The work is the contribution of generations of staff members and cadres who used to and have been working with the company.
The book consists of

company's staff, in particular and readers, in general, with more
information about the hard-won experiences of the company in the
process of construction and development as well as the contribution
of staff 's generations during the past 15 years. .
